Managing Stress during Interviews
Interviews are always nerve-wracking, especially if you really want the role. Staying calm during is one of the best things you can maintain in your presence in front of the interviewers.
According to Daniel Levitin, biologically,
the best preparation for an interview is good preparation. One should make a
list of things to do before the interview to give them a sense of relief that
they have prepared well enough. Proper planning of what to do during the
interview and also after gives one a great sense of calm.
We should all remember no one is perfect.
There are always more things one can improve on but saying that everyone has their strengths as well makes them ideal for the role. Proper belief in
one’s ability can help a lot in staying calm under pressure. Preparing the necessary means to minimise anxiety and controlling your nerves can also
be very helpful.
All in all, the most important thing we
have to keep in mind to stay calm is to accept no one is one hundred per cent and seemingly improbable situations may come up and we should train ourselves
to remain as calm as possible and you manage to take your time to collect
yourself together and tackle this situation.
